These were the words shared by Plazas Uncle Dyna as he and World of Samoosas Zaheer Bayant waited patiently from the crack of dawn and FNB Plaza only went online at about 14:30. Ridiculous. People were queuing.....My bro told me that Lenz FNB owes were waiting from Fajr and had nothing by noon as systems were offline.

I heard that at the Ticketing Offices guys were queuing from the night before. Did anyone get lucky.

Did everyone endure difficulty.Please share your experiences

When I awoke to the warm humidity and great weather of Durban I was inundated with messages of how crazy the ticketing offices were.People were queing from last night. I believe Gateway was also madness and I hope to get some pics there when I go there later. Durbz is awesome.

Anyways please leave some Comments on the ticketing Fiasco and have you guys been lucky.Did anyone get any great matches.Comments please.Was it worth it.

Fifa is to blame for all this, they created this demand I was in sandton at 5am this morning, left home at 4:30 When i got there i was number 462 in que some guys were there from 1pm yesterday.
People were fighting and tempers flying at FNB WHERE I WENT TO in hyde park, I was number 6 in que, stood there for 4 and half hours just 2 get 2 fuckin tickets

2010 VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Applications for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Volunteer programme opens today Monday 20 July 2009 and will be open until 31 August 2009.
The application venues for the 2010 Volunteers will be the 9 host cities for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In order to apply for the Volunteer programme applicants must be over the age of 18, able to speak English and have a valid ID Document or Passport.
Applicants will be notified by FIFA of their success after which all preselected volunteer applicants will undergo an interview in February 2010.

Thereafter all 15000 selected Volunteers will have to go through training of various skills in March & April 2010. There is no remuneration for 2010 Volunteers, however all successful volunteers will receive training, meals while at work and a certificate of acknowledgment for participating as a volunteer at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Accommodation, Transport and Fuel will not be provided by the FIFA Organising Committee. Volunteers must provide all their necessary arrangements in order to be at the city or stadium of their choice by themselves.
Applicants for the 2010 Volunteer Programme are required in the following areas:

Logistic Services
Marketing
Media Volunteers

2010 TOUR OPERATORS:The 2010 Tour Operator programme is under way. Tour Operators for the 2010 World Cup have been given a certain quota of tickets which they me resell to the general public. At present there are a number of approved tour operators that have tickets available for the 2010 World Cup. However Tour Operators have only been allocated Team Specific Tickets (TST’s). Packages available include TST 3 (Group Games Only), TST 4, TST 5, TST 6 & TST 7 which includes all matches of your team including Group Games and all Knockout Rounds. If the team you are following gets knocked out you will follow the team that knocks them out and so on.

WORLD CUP TICKETS

Application for FIFA World Cup 2010 Tickets are now open on Fifa.com’s web page. The sale of the 1st phase of tickets runs from today 20 February 2009 till 31 March 2009. With regards to the applications, all applications are taken and put into a random draw on the 15th of April 2009, so therefore it is not a first come first serve basis. This will only occur if certain matches or packages are oversubscribed for. There are two ways to apply for tickets, through FIFA.com’s Web Page and the 2nd method is to go to any FNB Branch and fill in the application form and submit it. Also note that there will be 4 further sales period running from 4 May 2009 till 16 November 2009. However in these 4 phases tickets are sold on a 1st come 1st serve basis as well as being restricted to availability.
There are 4 price categories for ticket sales as described below but as South African Citizens Price Category 4 is limited to South Africans only and is the cheapest. The Seats are directly behind the goal posts. Prices for Category 4 are as follows:

There are 2 categories of tickets one can purchase.

MATCH TICKETS
Each applicant is allowed to take up to a maximum of 4 tickets per match and up to a maximum of 7 individual matches. Please note ID numbers are required for all applicants and their 3 guests in order for the application to be valid.

TEAM SPECIFIC TICKETS (TST)
In this form of ticket a person can apply for tickets to follow the Nation of Their Choice. This form of Ticket can vary from 3 to 7 matches depending on the success of the Nation followed at the FIFA World Cup. If your team is eliminated and your TST tickets will still be valid for further rounds following the team that eliminated your choice. Each person is allowed a maximum of 4 TST’s each.

After all applications are received FIFA will notify each applicant of the result in April after which you must confirm and pay for your application if you are successful.

Please note you need all ID numbers for you and your 3 guests in order to successfully apply online. You also need a credit card and need to supply the details of the credit card online. The credit Card also needs to be on the same name of the main applicant. An email is required to register your details with FIFA.

If you are applying for tickets through an FNB Branch, you need to fill in a Ticket Application Form provided by the Branch and submitted the completed form to the teller as well as pay the amount in Rands of the value of your application. You will then receive your Official VISA Mascot Prepaid Card. You will then receive a sms on the outcome of your application and using your card you can collect your tickets if successful or refund.

FIFA World Cup 2010’s Match Hospitality Services has been contracted to MATCH AG till the 2014 World Cup. MATCH is based in Zurich, Switzerland. The founders of MATCH are Byrom PLC (Manchester, England) and Eurotech Global Services (Appenzell, Switzerland).
MATCH formed a wholly owned South African Subsidiary called MATCH Event Services PTY to operate all local services for the 2010 World Cup.
MATCH provides the following services with regards to the 2009 Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup.

Accommodation
The main objective with regards to the Accommodation Service is for MATCH to get a number of hotels and accommodation rooms including guest houses, lodges, bed and breakfasts etc. for the 2010 World Cup. MATCH is working closely with the Department of Tourism and Environmental Affairs to ensure that there is enough accommodation available. Ticketing
MATCH has the responsibility to deliver an efficient and fair process for the sales of tickets for the 2009 Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup. MATCH is responsible for creating a turn-key ticketing system for FIFA comprising of all ticket services including ordering, sales, printing, distribution, administration etc. Further details regarding the sale of tickets will be given in this post in February 2009 when tickets go on sale to the public.

IT Solutions
MATCH’s primary Event IT objective is to provide a complete and efficient IT Solution to cater for all events for the 2010 World Cup which include accreditation, volunteer/event staffing and transportation. FIFA has decided to appoint a number of tickets to a Tour Operator Programme. This programme will allow qualified and experienced Tour Operators the right upon accreditation to use their own Business Policies & Plans to undertake the sale of tickets, accommodation and transport to the majority of fans arriving for the 2010 World Cup. FIFA has appointed MATCH Event Services Pty to manage the FIFA 2010 Tour Operator Programme application process.
